Re: Getting Over Shrinkage
Time is the only thing to have locs show their length. If you play around with stretching and what have you, I can only imagine it weakening the locs because it's the shrinking that causes it to lock up.
My locs were a little over shoulder length when I started them, it took maybe three years for the growth to outgrow the shrinkage. If your hair started shorter, it won't take so long to start outgrowing the shrinkage.

What DB said! Yup! With enough shed hair, your locks will 'drop'. For me, somewhere around month 18-24.....I wouldnt stretch, but you can finger roll the lock to help those hair compact more and not risk damage if you do it on damp hair.

Re: Getting Over Shrinkage
Shrinkage - You've got to blowout, stretch your hair dry with some kind of gel or setting product. But you know, whenever some dampness happens, the shrinkage is going to snap back. So with natural hair, any non-shrunk style (besides locs, extensions etc) is a very temporary style.
