Starting since the etsy sketch I would only be able to make 0.05 cent donations.

Congrats to our American cousins for having some form of universal healthcare insurance

I never understood what the madate issue was about, you can't have a car without having insurance so I didn't see why the indivudual mandate was so out there. Insurance companies can't complain, sure they will have to take on those with pre-existing issues but at the same time, that's a bucketload of state mandated customers they're picking up.

The fact that the court passed this law shouldn't obsure the fact that the SCOTUS ruling is still split ideologically, only with Roberts switching side to uphold the ACA.

Like y'all, I was amazed that Roberts decided with the liberal wing of the court.

Short answer: Because it was pushed by Obama and because the insurance companies lobbied against it.

    Cosign.

You should see my Twitter timeline. Earlier I was looking in on a discussion of Obamacare. I hear that some people are like, "I'm going to move to Canada now!!" Meanwhile, someone tweeted something awesome in response: "Moving to Canada to escape Obamacare is like moving to Hogwarts to escape magic."

thanks Kari....my thing is this....I know Republicans generally prefer that everybody "pay their own way" and that works if you come from a wealthy background and the wealth is still churning in your family tree...what I don't get are the poor trailer park Republicans who could benefit from not being denied insurance for a pre-existing condition or making sure their over 18 year old kid can be insured until they are 26 under their parents coverage....

Real talk..They don't support it for the same reasons poor whites always vote against their own best interest...they are too afraid that Black/Hispanic/other miscellaneous brown people will get something too. Those type of people would rather stay down in a ditch as long as they can sit on top of us..

Everyone in clinic was celebrating today. Our clinic does a ton of pro-bono work for uninsured children.
