Default Who Makes Over $100,000 a Year, Part 2

    Part one is here:

    http://www.nappturality.com/forum/sh...-$100-000-year

I thought it was very informative...

I can't believe I wrote this in 2008 to someone interested in health and law:

"maybe a master's in public health with a focus on health policy??? This and environmental policy would be my focus if I had to do it over again....I like epidemiology too....I am in educational policy, and I will probably make over 100K at some point, but not in the near future"

Well, now, four years later, I am in public health policy!!! I love it and I, at this time, want to manage, monitor, and evaluate public health programs...I should make $100,000 in the next few years, or close to it, if I stay on my current path...of course $100,000 ain't what it used to be, but I can make do just fine with it...

I am close and should be there in the next few years if I stick with it. I work in IT as a business analyst, which means I am the translator between the business end users and the technical programers. I have a BS in business administration with a focus in information technology.

No one has mentioned HR (since a lot were bemonaing the heavy tilt towards math and science), but I'll post for one of my sisters. She is a Human Resources manager for a defense contractor, and she's right up against $100K and under 30yo. (Her next job should push her over)
Her major in undergrad was Communications (minored in Finance) and she earned her Masters in Human Resources...there is a certification she is currently studying for, will have to ask her the name of it.

Im over the 100k mark and I work as a Defense Contractor in Afghanistan.

ETA: I just noticed when the original thread was started. Given the current status of the economy this thread might make a few cringe.

I do but I'm an MD so it would be weird if I didn't.

My best friend's a pharmacist and makes $100K/year. I don't make anywhere near that at the moment but if I get into the masters program I'm applying to I will be making close to 6 figures after graduating and above it within 4.

What educational route did you take to get into public health?

I'm a college faculty working in counselling (mental health) and earn over $100, But I am also classified as a public servant, since universities and colleges in Canada are public not private institutions.
