Welp, looks like Lance Armstrong to be stripped of all 7 Tour de France titles
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/23/lance-armstrong-statement-doping-usada_n_1826609.html
Lance ran out of ways to distance himself from the scrutiny.
I saw him at a Pelotonia event my first year as a cancer survivor. He was a commanding presence. To see his fall from grace [as it were] is a bit sad...and anti-climactic.

From what I've read, he and his team believe the USADA doesn't have jurisdiction nor any proof. He hasn't been stripped of his titles (or had any other sanctions enforced) and any attempts to, so far as his team has stated thus far, are to be contested. It's a very curious situation, in the least.

I became Tour de France nerd when he was running, stopped watching when he quit (ok I think I watched when Tyler Hamilton won). Although I do realize some forms of doping can have lethal consequences, I can't help but when I hear about them. In Amrstrong's case, it must be said that the French have hated his guts for years and have been after him with these allegations. But with no formal findings, I don't think they should take away his records.

^ agreed. from what i understand they havent found anything, he's just not going to fight it because the investigation is unfair. consider how long the accusations have been going on, it seems almost as if they are are investigating and investigating until they can find something. he's also banned from triathlons (that's how he started) because of the accusations. yhe whole thing is coming off as guilty until proven innocent which is pretty much the same thing that happened to caster semenya. unlike caster, there's no way for lance to use his body to essentially go back in time to prove he wasnt doping
highly unfair. .. i thought i remembered a few years ago they tested him and he came out negative. shouldnt that have been the end of it? i dont blame him for saying these people can suck it. like he said he knows he won fair and square, his teammates know he won fair and square and so do his competitors.

I agree, and I applaud him for just moving on. He has a bigger agenda that needs his attention. Fighting cancer. That chapter of his life needs his full attention and now that's exactly what he's going to do. Good for him.

This is why I say good. I think he should spend this time in his life concentrating on his health.
If anyone has been following they already know what's up. I'd do the same if it were me. I wouldn't be spending my energy focusing on this hole of negativity when I know that it could impact my health.Formally MzCuteBrownLeo
