I hope you're not being sarcastic with your comment about options because soap is right...I refuse to accept the notion that those of us who are older are incapable of adjusting to newer technologies and ways of working. That said, I don't know what your family/financial situation is...
Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!

that's a great attitude honey, with that frame of mind you will launch into something far greater than you could have ever imagined!

No, no sarcasm here. I am really excited about this. After almost 23 years I am being given an opportunity to see what else I can do.

I am looking forward to finding myself and the freedom to explore my options.

My lay off (department moved out of the country) came at the right time. Husband got severely ill so I was able to be by his side. Also allowed me time to think about what I THOUGHT I wanted to do has now changed.

I look at this period as a chance to start taking some chances.

I want to fix it so if I ever have to face a lay off, I can work for Savvy Inc. and never have to contribute to the profit of another entity again!

That is the right attitude to have.

I'm almost 50, haven't had a full-time job (outside of the home) in seven years, and I'm about to publish my first book. It took being 40+ and laid off for me to think about what I really want to be when I grow up.

You're never too old to "reinvent" yourself or your career. Take this time to discover who you really are, and what you really want, then go for it.

So far I haven't done much, relaxed, cleaned and cooked... Starting tomorrow I have scheduled some online tutorials to start working on my BSA certification and will begin looking into work.

Hubby wants me to take an insurance adjustor's class so that once I have my license we can work together.

I am going to start writing/compiling a book. I want to write something that will boost self-esteem for young ladies, and I have some poetry that I've written that I may have enough of to self-publish.

    Things are getting exciting!!!
