    Default Selling on Etsy

I remember awhile back there was a thread on selling on etsy. I can't remember if it was in this forum or the crafters forum, but now I can't find it. Anyway, is anyone still selling on Etsy? Pros/cons? I have reached a point where I want to start selling my crafts. I know it's .20 to list and they take 3.5% off the final sale price. Seems reasonable. I know for awhile people were angry with Etsy but that was about a year or so ago. So any thoughts?

Try Bigcartel. I am going thru them and they have it where you pay no fee to a flat fee...they don't take a percentage of your sales...just a monthly fee (I think the highest is $20??)

They even have a bundle that's completely free

I'm also wanting to set up an etsy shop, I'd be interested in any opinions.

So far I'm reading mixed revues across the net. While there have been claims that some have managed a full time/main income from etsy shops, most claim that it's a good start-up but other net presence is required, including a separate online shop for those who wish to expand it to a main income.

Also I read comments that the major earners (6 figures) are suppliers...

Wow, this thread is exactly what I was thinking about. I wanted to start an etsy for knitting and crocheting items, but I wasn't sure, I will definitely subscribe to this thread and ask my friend that has an Etsy.

I don't like etsy. your shop easily gets lost in the millions of articles that they sell (and after being a subscriber to regretsy.com and finding out about their dubious ethics, I am not a big fan of them at all).

I use a website which allows me to have a shop and I use paypal checkout.

Crazy. Almost a year ago I wrote this. Forgot about this thread. I never did do Etsy only because word of mouth spread so fast that I got super bogged down. So I only used word of mouth and paypal for payment.

Yes it is. But I'm on hiatus from new orders since I'm still recovering from my surgery.
