    Default Products that add slip

What products - other than oils - are known to add slip and can be used in leave-in conditioners or moisturizers? I am in dire need of something that I can use more often than just when detangling, so that I can hopefully minimize the webbing/knotting that happens no matter how I wear my hair.

I read on blackgirllonghair that a way to add slip to conditioner is to add light oils like coconut, jojoba or olive oil.

"...the ideal fix is a light oil that flows easily. Melted coconut oil, jojoba oil (which is a liquid wax) and olive oil are good options. The amount you add depends on how much slip you would like. As a general guide 1-2 teaspoons added to a portion that you intend to use should suffice. You can test the slip by applying a small amount of the mixed up conditioner to your hair and seeing how well the strands separate when finger combed. Add more oil (teaspoon wise) to the mix and test again until you get to your ideal level."

All you have to do is make a tea from the fresh herb and mucilage will come out. Mucilage is slippery.

I add a little jojoba and coconut oil (the kind that is also edible) to my conditioner. Just remember to let the conditioner sit for at least 10 minutes before deciding to detangle.
Make every moment, a teachable one.
