It's the end of the world with so many locked heads going loose

Seriously, on my end my only hope for 2013 is that I will style my locs more often. Today I pulled them back in a messy pony bun only to realize that I could do a proper bun. I'm too lazy to do a simply braid out

    Your locks look GREAT, btw.

I'm also surprised at the locs that are going. Right now I can't imagine taking mine down. My original intention was to be locked for life, but who knows what I'll be thinking next week. The thought of going back to having to think about what to do with my hair, is what keeps the scissors at bay right now. In 6 1/2 years I think I've done about 3 braidouts and two times I have to work out an everyday, 2 minute 'style', because of the increase length. once a year I latch the stray hairs in along the new growth.

Other than that, hair is seriously low maintenance. I'd really struggle to give that up given that I've always been lazy about my hair.

I think I will add color and some shells to my locs. Then I might try some jewelery. I need something fresh for 2013.

I am the same, the idea of going back to loose hair, using a shock, horror comb and brush feels me with dread

I am changing my 'cut them short' plans and thinking of making 2013 the year of doing more hair styles.
My cut them short plans were going to be either in year 7 (which was 3 weeks ago), year 10 (2015) or when I reach 50 (20whenever).

@Denny - I "might" cut them in 2015 as well (year 7 to 8 for me).
I want to do something for age 50 as well. (I got a while for that though)

    Hello Ladies,

I've been missing hearing about other people's plans and how journeys take us to unexpected places. I got the itch of the scissors for my birthday in September, of 2011--that seem like it was so long ago--after almost 5 years of dreads...And a year flew right by...and I found myself missing my natties more and more everyday. I also had said that if I ever had to re-start my journey (my emotions got the best of me, and I cut them on a whim which I regret almost immediately after) I would do it the organic, truly natty way. My first set, I started by 2st and then twisting and then latching, until gradually I became a religious free-former...and Now I am ready to see what my hear truly would like to do. So I stopped brushing and combing my loose hair (which grew quite a lot in a year), and decided that 2013 was the year I was going back to my truly natural state.
So for this year, I am looking forward to being surprised by my hair, and what shape my natties will take.

    One Love,
    SR

I have just turned 50 last October, and my locks are past my butt. I'm just going to continue to let them grow. I'm going to TRY to start wearing headwraps, and see how I like that. I will going to put some ornaments in my locks, but that's just about it.
