Mild hot flashes and not sleeping worth a d!%#. For the last week I've been waking up between 1:30 and 3:30am . I'm going to start working out more in hopes that this will help.

I oh so understand! My solution to the problem use to put a small fan next to my bed, direct it at my face only and wala! It worked for me!

After my surgical menopause, I had horrendous flashes. What helped me:

    Regular exercise

Sleeping on one of those 'cooling' pillows, flip it so that it always feels cool.

Problem: Hormonal Issues With Sleep Problems
    Solution: Dandelion

Dark green leafy vegetables have more nutrients than we will probably ever completely understand. While dandelion is not traditionally known as a sleep-inducing food, we have found using the liver-cleansing properties of dandelion to be a valuable aid in helping sleep.

A healthy liver will balance blood sugar. Blood sugar fluctuations and drops are a major factor in insomnia and waking at night. Hormonal issues, especially in perimenopause and post-menopause can also stop a woman from obtaining a good night’s sleep. In Chinese medicine, foods like dandelion can help balance the liver and nourish the yin, which ultimately strengthens the function of the blood, fluids and hormonal balance.

We like our dandelion as part of a good dinner. We often steam or blanch the dandelion first, then sauté with garlic and organic extra virgin olive oil.

think I have a sinus infection...pain under the eye and headache in the temple area that just sits....ibuprofen and excedrin migraine ain't budging it so I see the nurse practitioner in the morning...had a bad cold a month or so ago and she said I was a "candidate" for an infection so maybe it blew up..lawdy....anyhoo I'm on a mission to make myself the human guinea pig and test all this "if you eat right and exercise" you'll ward off all kind of illnesses as you age, etc....I'll be 45 in August and want to be in the BEST shape of my life, ever! Not to mention I signed up for a half marathon in September, I'm going all the way ya'll, watch me work!

Black cohosh has been helping with my hot flashes and sleeplessness. I took one capsule twice a day (per the directions) for the first week and I've been functioning on just one a day for the past few weeks, along with working out.

I thought I was gonna go crazy during Oct and early Nov when the flashes and the waking up through the night were at the worst.
