Default The diary of a random napptural woman's thoughts

Had time off work for two days thanks to a Holiday and a snow day so I kept my twists in since Sunday. Just keep oiling my scalp and spritzing my twists with my Curls Quenched curls moisturizer. I twisted my hair with the cashmere curl jelly from their line.

Lets see what my twistout looks like tomorrow.

My hair feels so damned soft and buttery right now. So glad I've finally found products that do what I need them to do. Gotta do a shea butter run this weekend and reload on coconut oil.

    Digging the thread title

I LOVE the fact that I went natural before having my daughter. At 18 months old she see’s mommy twisting her hair or walking around the house with a big fro and she touches her own little hair because she knows that its like mommy’s. When we say “pretty” she automatically touches her hair.

I am hopeful that there is a generation coming up that will see natural hair as the norm and not think anything of it.

I love my baby and her coily little hair

One myth women need to get over is if you cut your hair, it may not grow back. Many of us thought that way. It's absurd, though. Hair is constantly growing out the scalp. If your hair is falling out, it's breakage. (Or medication)

So many girls are afraid to trim their hair. I remember seeing girls in the stylist's chair with chewed up ends talmbout (LOL sorry, I went there) "Don't cut too much!"

I can see why you may not trust a stylist. So learn to do it yourself. But if you're in good health and take great care of your hair, it IS growing. KNOW this.

P.S. Hair grows from the root, not the ends. So how would cutting the ends affect your scalp?? LOL

    Washed hair - yay

    Dandruff returned - awww

Me thinks coconut oil is bad for styles that have a lot of exposed scalp

    SAY THAT!

Including the original BC, I have BC'ed five (5) times and every single time my hair has grown back.

Prior to that, though...my first true haircut happened when I was a junior in college and it was because the wool collar of my coat had worn away a patch of hair at my nape. My second true haircut happened about 5 years later and it was for the same damn reason. But after that I stopped being afraid of haircuts and in fact I kept my hair in some kind of (cute short) shape for the first half of the 90s. Unfortunately overprocessed hair doesn't care what kind of shape it's cut in...

    1. So yeah, I think I'm going to do this for my trip. I bought silver and blue last night; I think I'll start with silver because it'll look more "natural," lol.

    2. Also last night I discovered a couple of coils at my nape that seem unusually short even though they were trimmed down to almost nothing when I did my last cut almost 2.5 years ago. Then it occurred to me: Could my wool collar of my winter coat have done this? AGAIN??? *beats head against wall*
Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!
