Cool STOP THE PRESSES!!! Andre Walker Announces Natural Hair Care Line

    What the French toast??

    http://www.juicymagonline.com/hair/2.../#.UVXL-M0hpG5

The O Effect: Andre Walker Set To Release Hair Care Collection!!!

ANDRE WALKER, long time hairstylist to legendary talk show host, OPRAH WINFREY, is set to release his very own line of hair care products to help women “make peace with their natural hair.”
The Andre Walker Hair line, created for women who are looking to transition and become natural, promises to treat, condition and style African-American, ethnic and textured hair types without the use of chemical relaxers and straighteners.
The line includes an Ultimate Moisture Sulfate Free Shampoo, Ultimate Moisture TKO(Total Keratin Obsession) Conditioner, Beautiful Kinks Styling Crème Gelee and Straightening Crème, all to establish hair that is soft, healthy, shiny and manageable.
WALKER plans to use his new hair line to help women “make peace with their natural hair.”
Sure to come with an OPRAH endorsement the collection is slated to be released in July.

I started to put this in the "Companies jumping on the natural hair bandwagon" thread, but given Andre's history..... I felt this news deserved a thread of its own.

So I guess now that he sees that money is to be made off of the same kinky hair that he said shouldn't be worn natural in the first place, it's all good....Have a stadium full negro

WALKER plans to use his new hair line to help women “make peace with their natural hair.”

So exactly how does buying a product (YOUR PRODUCT, Andre?) help one make peace with their natural hair? Is it laced with a sedative? Tranquilizer? Anti-anxiety medication?

I say f*** him and his hair care line too. Yes. I said it. His hair typing chart is what lies at the source of divisiveness and division in the natural hair care community today. His chart had no real place for black hair and just earlier I was thinking about it pretty in depth. The reason there was no 3c or 4c (even though there was a 1c and 2c category) in the original hair typing chart is because our hair according to Andre Walker was something that must be straightened. Look closely at the division between 'soft' 4a hair and 4b hair. It is really an explanation of process. One hair type is easier to process than the other. That is why there are two categories- for the entire black race. His point of view is that of a stylist, a hair dresser- not as someone who actually specializes in the care and preservation of hair. The job is to give the hair a style, whether or not it is damaging, that suits the client. That includes forcing straight hair to curl and curly/kinky to become straight. Besides, Oprah has billions of dollars and throughout all of recent history her hair has remained the same length, shouldn't that be reason enough to do away with his chart and the underlying colonial thinking behind it? Oh and he is marketing a keratin conditioner paired with a straightening creme with the sales pitch helping naturals make peace with their natural hair. You mean helping us to get it straighter with heat, right? The sooner we dead talk/argument/discussion about the hair typing chart the sooner we can move forward and actually embrace our texture. I want none of what this man is peddling. Really? Really? *steam comes out of ears*...

Smh. So he saw that more and more women are going natural and decided to finally cash in, with his twisted sense of knowledge.

I don't know what's worse, Black companies being bought out by non-black ones, or a lop-sided negro talking out the back of his neck tryna CASH IN on his own people.

He doesn't care about natural hair. Know this. He wants what's in your wallet. He was a hater and now he's a hypocrite.
