Day 2 of the bun will most certainly turn into a Day 3 bun. Got a three hour dance workshop tomorrow right after work. Not even trying to wrangle this mop into...ANYTHING...

When I said I had two basic styles, I lied. I actually have three. I started putting in mini-rope twists last night and this morning I'm about halfway through. Yes, they're scalpy as hell but they're more than long enough for me to pull back so I'm fine with them.

This is the second year in a row I've put in mini-twists in spring. Last year I wore them for two months and retained an insane amount of length. This time around I have this crazy idea I'm going to try to keep these in continually -- washing once a week, deshedding and retwisting one at a time every 3 weeks or so -- until Labor Day weekend. We'll see how long I last.

And once again I show my oddness compared to other naturals: Summertime is (supposedly) WNG season. I don't see myself going back into WNGs until the fall.
Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!

FINALLY got a diffuser attachment that fits my dryer! Still not wearing a wash and go for a while.

Something just popped into my head. Went to check on a girl who I haven't seen in my subscriptions for awhile. I remember when she was transitioning...did her bc....hair grew out...LOL

Well, I see she has some new vids up, but those somehow didn't make it to my feed. They're "How I Straighten my Natural Hair" type vids.

So...I was like..."Oh." And went to search for other videos.

ETA: And in the beginning, they try a thousand products and buy all these headbands.....I guess somewhere along the way, the magic fades....

My thought at the time was, isn't it ironic how some ppl are so enthusiastic about cutting that last bit of straight ends off....then several months down the road, they "have to" flat iron their hair?

    Yeah...still processing....

^^^The attachment to straight hair is still very powerful for some.

I think I can now say that the Pure Clean line gives me the best wash n'go. Multi-day hair, no crunch, great definition, reduced shrinkage, touchably soft hair (very hard to get with most products), and no dryness are really hard things to get all at once. I'm done looking for reasonably priced, on the ground products for my wash n'go!

USPS says that my hair products are going to be here on Monday. That means my dear little wng is going to be taking a back sit for the next 3-4 weeks.

Why am I always the last to know?

You mean to tell me that roughly a year ago, a wave of women started putting honey and ONION in their shampoo...wishing for increased hair growth???

    Another YT bandwagon...

Not saying it won't work. Not saying it will. Not saying onions don't have healing properties. Not saying home remedies aren't useful.

    But...ONION???!!!!
    Bwahahahahaha!!!!!

Hmm...now I want onion rings for lunch..

I WILL go and buy this shea butter today. And I'm going to buy enough so that I don't have to travel all the way to Brooklyn for it again for a few months. Going to keep my mix nice and simple too: just coconut oil, aloe vera gel and essential oils. That's it.
