Quiet Your Mind by John Selby: http://www.amazon.com/Quiet-Your-Min.../dp/1930722311
I also just bought Marvel's Storm #1 by Greg Pak. This is the first series written for Storm and I'm glad I've caught it at the beginning. It was a good read and I'll definitely get the next one when it comes out.

Re: Whatcha Reading? (Part XII)
On my wishlist!!!!
Illuminating the Darkness by Habeeb Akande
"Illuminating the Darkness critically addresses the issue of racial discrimination and colour prejudice in religious history. Tackling common misconceptions, the author seeks to elevate the status of blacks and North Africans in Islam.
The book is divided into two sections: Part l of the book explores the concept of race, 'blackness', slavery, interracial marriage and racism in Islam in the light of the Qur'an, Hadith and early historical sources. Part ll of the book consists of a compilation of short biographies of noble black and North African Muslim men and women in Islamic history including Prophets, Companions of the Prophet and more recent historical figures."
"Habeeb is currently working on his upcoming book, entitled A Taste of Honey : Sexuality and Erotology in Islam. The book is a study of sexual love and lovemaking from a religious perspective"

Re: Whatcha Reading? (Part XII)
Just finished reading this. I didn't even know what Africana meant when I started (it refers to people of the African diapora).
My next read: I can't wait to dive in!!

Re: Whatcha Reading? (Part XII)
Confession: There was a sidewalk book sale. The woman whose books they were selling was a professor who recently passed away. Hardcovers were $3 and softcovers were $2. I don't usually walk around with cash but I had $50 which was money I owed someone but they didn't show up to our lil meeting + $15 worth of change. At fist I said, "$20 budget", then I saw some books and said, "$30 is good". Then I saw more books and said, "You don't get them cheaper than this! $50 is not unreasonable".
Then I gave them all my money and took home a crate-full of books. *le sigh*----------It is not the eyes that are blind, but the hearts - Quran 22:46 ----------

Re: Whatcha Reading? (Part XII)
I just finished reading Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. This book was amazing and inspiring. It was also depressing listening to so many stories of people being wrongfully convicted at a young age and being placed in ruthless prisons, only to be exonerated decades later and unable to adjust to society.
