I was going to get extensions done but I changed my mind after giving her a small section of my hair to test drive her skills. The braid was bendy and she ripped through strands that snagged as she was plaiting...no thanks. My hairline is still playing catch up after the last person ripped through my hair...*sigh* how I wish I could trust my head to someone but alas I am stuck doing it all on my own.

Time for protective styling lock down, I will have to do it all on my own which sucks because I wanted a style that could last months with washing...*sigh* ...

    - twists are easy and versatile but I cannot wash them
    - braids can be washed but they tend to be thin and scalp-y looking
    - African threading is a hot mess to do on my own and right now I want to stay away from other peoples hands
    - I've been pulling it back into a ponytail but that's not very good for my edges
    -I cannot cornrow/flattwists

    *sigh*

I think I'm going to henna 1x a month, for the next 6 months. I just want to see if there will be a significant difference in my hair!

Tried to wear a braidout yesterday, didn't like it. And it shrank while I slept last night so bun it is for today. Then again, I should know better; if a twist out is only going to last me two days, a braid won't last much longer either.

I tried to have a relaxing day and wash and detangle my hair, but it ended up with me being super stressed and upset. I will be on the look out for a stylist so that I can get braids or something that will last a while

I love the fact that you've named your hair.

Good job for testing their skills first. I do not trust hair braiders anymore with my hair. Even if they don't tear up my hairline they still manage to thin out my hair with their abrasive combing practices. I recently installed small braids with my own hair over the course of a week. I am not going to recommend it until I see what the take down process has in store for me, but I will say this. Putting them in myself at my own pace was way better than entrusting my hair to someone who is more concerned with speed of service and neatness of style than gentle hair care.
Thank you to whoever panked me!!
