My 1st tri was crazy (cuz I didn't know I was preggo until about 11 wks), but my closest peeps said, "It makes sense...You were acting like a total b**** last month!"

My 1st trimester was a hormonal one. I was nauseous if I didnt eat enough or if I ate too much (I'm still kinda). I could make something and salivate at the mouth just thinking about it, but when I'm done making it, I don't want it. I'd have snippets of a good appetite, inhale food, then feel sick afterwards!

I still can't get a hang of it. As far as my body: I.AM.HUGE!!! My theory?: Since I miscarried then immediately conceived, I think my body still felt it was continuing my pregnancy from where it left off. So I look 4-6 months, but developmentally, I'm only 3. (and as I think about it, with miscarrying, my body would have been going through the preggo stage for 11 months!!)

All in all, these are not complaints, just enlightening observations about pregnancy and being a 1st time mom.

We don't want to know the gender, but I can bet my life savings on what the gender would be!

Checking in, how ya doing, GoodT?!...This Wednesday, I'm going for my monthly OB visit. I could find out the gender this time (but I will not!). I'm just growing, lol (I'll post a pic soon!) Since the hubs & I are out here alone, I'm researching the use of a doula. Any moms have experience with a doula? I've also heard there's a social group called Mocha Moms. I think it would be a good way for the hubs & I to connect with people.

I had a doula for my VBAC and it was worth every penny! My care changed dramatically - in fact the nurse left the room to hang out in the hallway with the other nurses after my doula got there, LOL! My doula is an RN so I felt very comfortable with her knowledge of getting me through labor AS WELL AS interacting peacefully with the hospital staff.

Are you in a new city (I can't remember) or you just don't have other friends who are moms? I don't think my area has a Mocha Moms chapter, but I do know the mommy groups in my town are pretty much only for SAHM and all of their activities are during the workday. I was able to connect with folks from other birthing/mothering groups like LLL and ICAN (a cesaerean awareness group but all are welcome).

Thank you! Thank you for your doula experience!
I recently moved here last January for work. While I've met people through work, I find them more like 'associates'. The people that I have met through my running group are older and their kids are older teenagers. And I'm open to all parenting/soon-to-be parenting groups, I just want to meet people!
