Considering the advances made in weaving and wiggatry I wouldn't have to use relaxers again if I desired a straighten look.

While I currently intend to be loced-for-life, if I ever removed my locs and wanted to maintain long hair, I'd relax again. I'm simply not prepared to deal length plus with the thick density of hair I have. Short and thick is not a problem, but long and this thick... no. In fact even in locs it's thicker than I'd prefer.

Thank you for all your votes so far! It's looking pretty definitive at this point...

Um, for sure NO. Been there. Done that. Twice. The last time was in 2010 when I was going through my Chief's induction (thinking it would make life easier) and I HATED my hair after the initial nostalgia at the beauty shop. Hated the way that it lay flat and I had to curl it. HATED the chemical smell and to this day I couldn't tell you WHY I did it. It CERTAINLY DID NOT make life easier. NEVER. AGAIN.

Natural for 11years next month and I will never relax again. I'll shave it off, regrow and repeat but no more relaxers.

I love my natural hair. I would never go back to frying, blow drying, and beating my hair into being straight.

I no longer like the way limp straight hair look on me(reviewing my old photos). I could never get it to lay right like Aaliyah(who was my hair crush) or that length, So I will not be going back to the perm. Besides a bad perm experience is what made me go natural in the first place. Also some one said up thread that with the advances in wigs and weaves it would be easier to don either and I agree. I am in kinky twists now and it used to be that they were the debil but now with me installing them they are a girls best protective style friend.
