    Default What's Your Staple Mascara?

    LADIES, what’s your staple mascara? I’ve yet to find mine and I’m tired of the search. I want a brand that’s consistent in their formula that gives length + volume and is easy to find & purchase at Target & Walmart. Suggestions?

    I second L'Oréal's Voluminous. I accidentally bought the waterproof version when my other one was running out and was afraid to use it because I hated the sticky clumpy goopynous of one from Maybelline but I tried it and fell in love. Ok it smells like oil paint but it goes on like a regular mascara and after a few hours it can be easily removed with soap, water and a little bit of rubbing with a facecloth. I also still love Maybelline's Collisal Volume line.

    I'm currently using L'Oreal Voluminous, however, I like Maybelline Full N' Soft best. When it's time for some more mascara, I'll probably go back to that.

    @KB

    I think it was a couple of years ago you posted a pic of yourself in this REALLY nice mascara. The name escapes me at the moment. I thought about buying it, your lashes looked so good -- really pretty and very natural looking. That one didn't work out for you I take it?

    KB, you look beautiful in your profile pic!

    I'm currently trying out a few; Grandissimo by Milani (brush is too big for my liking), Hypnose Star by Lacome (pricey - I got caught up with that one) and Mega Plush Volume Express by Maybelline (One of my beauty bloggers did a review on it and recommended it based on it's gel formula, so I figured I'd give it a try.) However, I think once I'm finished playing around with those three, I'll go back to Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Black Drama.

    mascara is all about the brush for the most part. so if you fond a mascara you like, just reuse your brush especially since some of those b*tches be getting discontinued

    i got the diorshow new look mascara a while back and i love it. it's $28.50 BUT you can reuse the brush so it pays for itself i just use it with cheapie waterproof . my eyelashes end up up looking like falsies when i use that brush and several people have even been like "wow you do a good job of integrating your falsies into your real ones."

    i also will use the maybelline mega plush volume express brush every so often. this one is good. actually most of the maybelline ones I've used in the past i've been pretty happy with

    next on my list to try is diorshow iconic overcurl. when i tried it at sephora it gave some CRAZY curl!!

    also for remover i use boots botnicals all bright soothing eye makeup remover. i try to get pretty close to my lash line with my liquid liner and this remover is the only one that doesnt sting my eyes AND does a good job getting the eye stuff off with 2 swoops

    If memory serves it was Benefit Cosmetics "They're Real" mascara which I like very much.

    True but formulations vary and that matters as well. I prefer thicker, goopier formulations because I can really manipulate them to maximize lash output, volume & length. All time favorite: still Great Lash.

    Other mascaras I dig very much are Korres B5/Rice Bran Mascara (very much like Great Lash but good for my vegan/tree hugger clients or clients with more sensitive eyes. What I use on myself as well in those extremely rare moments I wear mascara) and the **spectacular** (but expensive) Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes.

    And if you do re-use mascara wands PLEASE sterilize them.
