Thank you!
....no special stuff, just traditional hanging-down locs today.
I'm just not feeling a style for some reason.http://www.Queenlocks.com

I rinse and rinse and rise, i havent changed anything in my routine and i dont use product, but OMG this is getting on my nerves. Im about to go HAM on ACV rinsing and bath soaking, grrr!!!

ACV post shampoo really helped me with that ashiness. I used to ACV first and then wash but after one frustrating wash day where all the rinsing in the world didn't help, I did a second ACV rinse and it completely got rid of that dusty look.

Sometimes the water contains minerals which can cause an ashy appearance. ACV to the rescue!

Finally under the dryer after a much needed wash and retwisting. I trimmed off half of one of my double headed dragons because the weight was getting to be too much. Sad

For the first time in my life, I'm developing a major dandruff/itchy scalp issue. I need to figure this one out. I'm thinking it's a combination of working out more so I need to wash more often instead of just rinsing to get me through to the next wash day. And I also think my locs don't like being confined in a style. I've been trying to style more and those days are some of the itchiest days. I don't think oiling more would help bc I tend to have oily skin generally--I'm thinking the dandruff is coming from being too oily vs dry.
Now my 7yr old is dealing with dandruff due to a dry scalp. All of the washing and soaking in Listerine and ACV rinses to get rid of the lice (they're gone! we won!) has seriously dried her poor scalp & her locs out. I'm focusing now on getting the moisture back into her locs & oiling her scalp more often.

I like my hair when it's curly rather then when I wear it bone straight. My locs are fuzzy, some ends are closed but most are curly (after 3+ years in) and I realize because of my hair texture they will always be that way. I secretly envy the loced heads who have the tightly condensed locs because their hair looks really nice straight or curly! When my hair is straight I can see all of my imperfections but when it's curly it looks beautiful. I'm not really complaining...lol... just venting.
I last tightened my hair late August and am planning not to touch it again until late November possibly early December. My roots are so much healthier when I let them be for a while. I also don't plan on cutting anymore of my anemic ends! Either they'll loc up or break off but I plan to just let them do whatever they want to do. I'm learning to just leave them alone. I'll just keep them clean, conditioned and oiled and I figure they'll do the rest.
I think I'll stick to using Bigen on my hair because it rinses out really easily and doesn't leave an odor. Also, I'll only color my roots from now on instead of my entire head. I honestly don't know why I wasn't doing this before."Don't ever think I fell for you, or over you. I didn't fall in love, I rose in it. I saw you and made up my mind". Toni Morrison
