Cool 2013 The Year of Growth and Protection: Third Edition

    Continuing on...

Washed and rebraided. I shouldn't have skipped the pre-poo; my hair was too squeaky clean. Anyway, I am noticing some growth, and my ends seem happy. Judging from old pictures, this is the longest my hair has been in my life... And the fullest and healthiest.

It is a fairly open challenge. Here is the quote from KreativeKoils, the maker of the challenge:

    Hello!

I decided to take Dee's suggestion and start my own challenge. 2012 is a year that I didn't do right by my beautiful kinks, so I decided that 2013 is going to be the year that I really start treating it the way it deserves.

    The rules of this challenge:

Protect your hair! Do whatever styles help keep your hands out of your hair, and let it grow without issue.

Treat it right! I'm going to do DC, use my EVOO and EVCO along with my shea butter. Y'all can take it as far as you want, and include whatever makes your hair happy.

Trim and cut as you please. It's about growing healthy, length is just an added bonus. I'd just like to be the best nappy I can be. I've always found that having a support system makes everything a little easier.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join this challenge!

I detangled my hair with EVCO today from my loose twists in the middle of my head and the small-medium twists all around. To be hoonest I like it better than detangling with conditioner or water. It was indeed easier to get rid of tangles and prevent knots from forming. I am leaving the EVCO in overnight. It has been about ten hours and I took off the plastic bag and my hat, it feels soft. I was looking at the benefits of using it as a deep conditioner. I want to make my regimen simple as possible. As I find methods or things that work best for Lola...day by day it has been an experience. So far I have been doing better via protecting my hair.Since may I have been keeping her pinned up whther its been loose twists, flat twists, mini braids, or just plain rope twists... It has been since May and I have been taking care of my hair and it has been work. Kinsert tangent stopL tommorrow. I am going to shampooo and condition... and twist it back out

Back from 10 days of field exercise and 22 hours of air travel. Feeling beat. I've got one more field ex tomorrow morning. I'll probably just wear a super loose bun for the event and get in a proper wash and detangle when I get home. Also I remembered to take my vitamins today. That's a plus. But I'm really dehydrated.

I am craving another wash for my hair. I am in another experimental mood. I want to try using 6 sections instead of 4. I want to use a different conditioner for my detangling mix. I want to try a different method to attempt to keep my hair stretched while washing. I want to try banding again. I want to try making slightly smaller braids. If this mood doesn't pass by Friday I am just going to do it. Gosh.

My impulses have died down. Wash day is next week, as planned. xD

I do not think wearing a twist out for 5 days with heavy sweating is ....not recommend. wash my hair tody feeling great. I am going to my hair in a protective style with extensions white blonde, purple and black

I had good length retention last month. I am now setting the record for the longest hair I have ever had, and the going is great. xD

Washed and rebraided last night. I figured out how to keep my hair stretched while washing. The subsequent braiding was much easier.
It took me less time to detangle. I accidentally put too much water in my detangling mix but apparently that was a good thing.

I've got a lot of breakage in the front. No more headbands. :c
