    Smile Question for you......

For those of you over 40, how do you wear your hair to work?

I have about a month till 40, but that's close enough. I am Customer Service Assistant for a major home improvement store.

I wear low puffs, 2strand twists that hang down, 2 strand twists pinned up, 2 strand twists curled, flat twists, any combination of the fore-mentioned styles, twist outs, or ponytail with the ends pinned. Sometimes I wear a hat with my company's logo on it. But you will find me mostly in some type of 2strand twist style.

at my current job i've worn chunky fros, 2STs, boxed braids, high puffs, low puffs, 2 large side braids, 2 large side twists, mix of flat twists and 2ST, a straight shoulder length weave, wash n go. it's probably easier to say the hair styles i havent worn : roller sets and twist outs. and that's only because i cant be bothered with those

i work in the corporate office of a global e-commerce company.my hair is approx APL when stretched

I'm even farther over 40 and I work outside so I wear box braids, twists, and sometimes with my hair pinned up in front and down in the back. A favorite in the winter is to twist my hair to the back and pin it all up under a scarf.

Thanks for your replies. I was just wondering because some think natural hair is not "professional". For the last few weeks I have been wearing a puff because I haven't had time to do much else.

    Thanks for sharing!

I'm over 40 and I work for a major international bank. I wear locks. Never had a problem. White folks don't care about our hair. It's us that perpetuate all of the myths.

I just turned 40 two weeks ago. I am a college professor and a therapist. I wear various styles, and the only problems I've ever had were from Black women who appeared to be dealing with their own insecurities. I tend to wear lots of buns this time of year because of the high humidity we have in north FL. And my buns are usually pretty big. I also wear twists (up and down), pony-puffs, braid-outs, and bantu knot-outs.
