Hi !

I couldn't remember my previous login and figured I should just start anew anyway.

My name is Jay (middle initial is L, hence the nickname). I am in my 30's, from Martinique in the French Caribbean, but currently living in London, UK. in a couple of weeks I am relocating to Cork, Ireland. I have never lived there and only have been to Dublin for a weekend last year so I am not really sure what to expect (especially in terms of natural hair products, hair salons, etc....) but it is an exciting prospect to start a new life.

I have had natural hair since 1999, only relaxed for the first time in 1995 and didn't really like it. I started locks (no, sorry, I don't write it "locs" like most people do) in 2007 and they now reach my shoulders (due to a very slow growth speed, unfortunately). I usually take care of my hair alone as I have learned to use the latch hook to interlock.

I have been married for a few years and I have a 2 year old son who has the exact same hair as mine. I haven't really cut it yet and I usually do his hair in twists.

I am a very creative person and I am now part of a band that plays traditional Caribbean music. I play the Ti Bwa (sticks) and Chacha (some sort of maracas instrument made with an aerosol can). I also make jewelry and started a small business selling them online, and sometimes on stalls. I'd love to have a weekend market stall but they are expensive. I lost my last job in August and I am about to start a new one with a worldwide IT giant in Ireland at the end of this month. I work in customer services and I am quite good at that.
