Maybe in this day and age we need to change the definition of napptural hair to "hair that has not had its texture modified". I know different things can change hair texture. Burning your hair to achieve a texture change is not natural hair...ion curr what these chicks are selling to the masses. nope.

Yeah they did change the article a tad from when I originally saw it on FB (in fact just now the FB link still has the orig title).

I've been pretty much NP.com only since I got involved in the online hair world. I don't care enough about it to go to multiple forums, blogs, you tubes, etc. I kind of pay attention to Urban Bush Babes and that's about it. So for me if you aren't one of the absolutely ubiquitous hair folks (Taryn, Naptural85, etc) I don't know you. I notice miss "heat trained" and I figured she was a throw-in concession for the Ebony / "do you" crowd. LOL. She certainly doesn't fit my definition of being natural but whatever...

Glad she's still in the napptural scene.
I love whoissugar! I started to sing her little jingle when I saw her name, lol. I first came across her through an eyebrow tutorial (it was the bomb-diggity), and I've been a fan ever since.

I subscribed to Kimmaytube mostly for the hair length porn and for the entertainment. It would have interesting to see her talking about taking care of all that hair post baby.

Good thing I went natural before the internet. These folks would have me crazy and frustrated. Most of these bloggers have hair that curls. My hair doesn't curl and isn't springy.

I also wonder how she would have kept that up. She definitely spent a lot of time putting her stuff together, but after a while I realized I wasn't going to be working that hard on my hair so I lost interest.

It's always interesting to me to see who blows up and who doesn't. I really enjoy napptural85 and chescalocs--for her locs style videos--though I am not much of a styler. I thought I would be, but I love the fact that my locks look good to me even if I don't do anything.

I don't have a lot of time. I miss coming on here and enjoy popping in when I can. Hands down nappturality has helped me the most, and it is interesting to see that some of the folks mentioned in the article have spent some time here too. You record keepers are hilarious. You remember everybody!

I read somewhere that Kimmaytube still posts videos, but they're private. If you follow her on Twitter, she sometimes tweets out the private video links.

YUP! @ the bolded. NP has helped a number of people, even though it is seen as a 'militant' website and often doesn't get the recognition (IMO) that it deserves. I received the BEST and most important education on afro hair (in all its forms) here. And as a bonus, I've engaged in some of the most intellectually stimulating conversations EVER! Like, what I thought I knew about a lot of things (hair and non-hair related) has been shaped and re-shaped b/c of NP. This is why I will always support it as best I can. Some really great minds have contributed some of the best insights on hair, culture, politics and life in general on NP. That's dope!

OFF TOPIC: I have been told my ENTIRE life that you can "train" your hair by doing X,Y, or Z to it.

Just wanted to add that the only blog I really followed was afronappy and crazycoil. In the case of afronappy, she began to become dissatisifed with her hair and started experimenting with wigs and such, so I got turned off. Crazycoil's site just went away. I loved how creative she was with her loose hair. Mine was a similar texture, so I could really relate to a lot of what she would share, though I could never seem to obtain the length that she could. I am over the length thing now, and my hair care regimen is so mundane that I don't even look at or think of looking at hair blogs, albums, or the like.
