My 10 yr. Nappiversary!

Hi Everyone!

I'm celebrating my 10 year nappiversary!! When I first started my journey, I believe that it was around the same time that Nappturality was launched. I repeatedly viewed Dee's online photo album because she was the only person with pictures of her natural hair, and I was mesmerized. (Thanks Dee!)

In the beginning this journey was entirely new to me and there was virtually very little information about natural hair anywhere, so my only hope was to join nappturality and ask for advice. (This was long before blogger, youtube, and other social media sites. I remember when 'fotki photo albums' barely entered the picture).

Could you imagine trying to exchange hair care regimens and styling tips without any visuals? Thankfully over the years the online hair community has grown tremendously through the utilization of various media platforms, so I'm VERY grateful now. (I know that visual learners, like myself, are cheering around the world.)

WOW Dewdrop has it been that long????? I can't believe it LOL I do remember when I was the only person with a natural hair album though. That was short-lived thank God!

Whenever I think back to those early days and how we were vilified as all kind of names - there was no where on the web where we could all go and talk about our hair, to exchange tips and product trials. Things got so heated all the time, and people just didn't understand how we could dare wear "nappy" hair. Boy it seems like only yesterday but it was 2002.

It is SO WONDERFUL to see you here and we can reminisce about the ole NP.
