Starting freeform locs from two strand twists?
Has anyone here started their freeform locs from two strand twists? How did they turn out? I am currently one month into my locing journey, and I've only retwisted my hair once (January 15). I knew then that I was going to freeform, because I hated how long it took me (about 3-4 hours), and I've always admired freeform locs. Right now I'm freeforming, since my retwist did not last long at all, and I moisturize every 2-3 days with Creme of Nature's Leave in Conditioner with Argan Oil (smells amazing!). I would actually like my locs to be thicker Should I let them combine on their own, or should I combine them myself?

Hi. When you freeform technically you allow your locs to do their own thing. So you should let them join together on their own. Semi-freeforming allows for some manipulating such as combining and popping or seperating the locs. I am a semi-freeformer. I won't do the totally wild child look but I admire others who have the confidence to do so. I have decided to interlock every change of season. So far I like the thickness added to the volume of my locs by leaving them loose. The only issue I have is running my fingers through them and getting caught in all that loose hair. I like to keep my locs seperated so I pop them on the regular. I also use the pineapple method to save my curls so that snagging happens often. It's worth the pay off though. I hope someone can assist you with your other questions. You don't have to follow any specific rules either. It's your head of locs so do what works best for you. Peace and Blessings.

Re: Starting freeform locs from two strand twists?
Interesting... that's how I started my locs a few months ago... it looks like they change thickness- maybe that depends on how much you wash it though... I always wonder how someone freeforms really thick ones since my hair always washes out of my twists... this time I went a couple months without washing them too make sure they lock... I hade friends with like 10 locks- but her hair was straight...
