Use of Glycerin?
Hey people,
I ended buying a lot of glycerin just because I seen a lot of people talking about it online, but even when I add it to water my hair feels "hard" once it dries and shrinks even more. I had no idea it was like a thick syrup smh
Has anyone tried adding it to a deep conditioner? And how much do you add?
What are some other ways of adding it into your regimen?

Re: Use of Glycerin?
Glycerin will usually work for you if the climate you're in is humid. It make hair more porous/open which can result in dry hair for some. If you are in dry/arid climate, it may take moisture from your hair into the air. Here's a link from a search..https://www.nappturality.com/forums/...light=glycerin

Re: Use of Glycerin?
Glycerin works good with conditioners. You can add a teaspoon or 1/2 a teaspoon. Play around with it and see what works for you. If you use it in your spritz don't added a lot to your mix. A little glycerin goes a long ways. One squirt is more than enough in a spritz. I use mine the whole year.

Re: Use of Glycerin?
Thanks, glad to know it can be used year round. I heard it couldn't be used in fall/winter as soon as I got it. But what do you include in your spritz and how do you use it/how often? Thanks again

Re: Use of Glycerin?
Hi, I used to live in a Southern Ontario, Canada, and I used it during the winter with good results. When the dew point was high and there was a lot of humidity, my hair was the softest and most moisturized, but I still used it all winter and it was fine.

Re: Use of Glycerin?
When my hair is loose I use a little bit of glycerin in water when I make a homemade hair spritz. I don't have an official measurement, but I figure the amount I use is no more than a teaspoon to a tablespoon per bottle.

Re: Use of Glycerin?
Nice thread. I'm glad someone asked because I've been wondering too. I live in a humid area (which makes my hair poof.) so does this mean glycerin will make it even MORE poofy?

Re: Use of Glycerin?
Glycerin def. makes my hair poof more in humid weather, but my hair and glycerin don't get along anyway.
