Revitalize and recommit to my dreadlocks...
Hey Everyone..hope all is well. I am at 8 yrs ** whoa!** and I wanted to know if any of the older dreadheads had thoughts or advice on how to revitalize dreadlocks at this point. I have thought to cut them back yet want that to be a last resort.
My locs are pretty healthy yet I just want to give them a boost for the next 8....
Here's to hoping the veterans will have some words of wisdom for me.
Thanks bunches...My heart is spoken for.

Re: Revitalize and recommit to my dreadlocks...
If your locs are pretty healthy than maybe a little spoiling is in order. Could you do a consult with a good loctician, have a steam treatment and get and areas that may need slight repairs taken care of?
If your care regime is working well that I'd stock with it.
Congratulations on 8 years!

Re: Revitalize and recommit to my dreadlocks...
I recently saw a sister who had long 8 yr locs (she was a year behind me), she shaved a side and bobbed it. I really like it. It looks light, bouncy and carefree. It would depend upon your lifestyle. I know that I no longer want heavy, weighted locks down my back that take forever to dry and pick up all kinds of life and lent, so I look for styles that are not burdunsome, yet carefree ( I got to be able to pull a bun look off).
Besides cutting, color is always fun if you're brave enough? What's your preference? Hang out on PInterest for a while, you're bound to see pictures of locks that speak to you!

Re: Revitalize and recommit to my dreadlocks...
Thank you!
Desdesdes...a little pampering is definitely in order! I started and maintain my dreadlocks so that is a great suggestion.
KnottyAuthor....No color for me...I am salt and pepper and can't wait for the color I did use to go away...I have been thinking of a cut/trim of several inches.
Again thank you ladies for responding and some serious food for thought! My heart is spoken for.
