Re: Henna dye
I'm not locd or henna'd so I can't comment directly but you can start by puttingin "henna" and/or "locs" into the search on the top right. Also you'll find all discussions specific to locs in the Locs Discussion area: https://www.nappturality.com/forums/...ocs-Discussion

Re: Henna dye
I love henna! I have loose hair right now, but I've done henna with loose hair and locs (skinny little Sisterlocs) in the past. Personally, I enjoy it more in the summer and prefer indigo in the winter. I've never coloured my locs with anything other than henna and indigo, so I can't say how it compares to a more mainstream treatment. I've always done my own henna mixes and I've always gone to the salon for permanent dyes. Either way, I love trying colours, so I say Do It Up!

Re: Henna dye
I've been using henna for a few years on my Sisterlocks. Personally I like the sheen it gives and my hair also has a reddish tint. The plus about henna is it strengthens the hair rather than weaken it, which chemical dyes tend to do.

Re: Henna dye
I've mostly bough the cheap henna (less than £2 per 100gm) from the Asian or Sudanese stalls in my local market. a few times I've bought from India via ebay. In truth the cheap henna from the market has always been as good or better. It's cheaper because the product goes through less marketing, packaging and multiple middle men before it gets to the market, which often means it's also fresher.

Re: Henna dye
I like to order it from Mehandi.com. It's good for when I'm far away from vendors that sell it. I always use Body Art Quality henna.

Re: Henna dye
I never considered using henna on my locs. I used henna on my loose hair and my hair became dry and brittle.
