Mirah! Not one section under my belt yet....I'm committed to passing FAR before the 2017 changes, the others I'll do after that. No fear of the big bad wolf from this girl!

Adding the CGFM to my cert list as it's well respected in the 0560 job series...I LOVE learning!

And....drum roll...after Christmas I'll be a federal employee! Excited to be making the transition, bidding adieu to 18 years in Consulting, in the past year I went from Big 4 to medium to small and it's always more of the same, what are you going to do after hours and weekends to "advance" the firm...um NOTHING! No more "utilization" woo hoo!!

UPDATE....I decided to do the CGFM first....once I'm done in the next few months I'll start reviewing for the CPA and let ya'll know when that happens cause I know I've been talking about it for ions lol...for now I'm settling into my government gig, enjoying having nights and weekends free and looking for as illustrious of a career as a civil servant as I had in Consulting!

I'm thinking about getting a few more certifications around wealth management and personal finance. I'm interested in teaching some classes that can help black people manage their money and work towards wealth. I also do consulting and training for small business owners, and I want to do that full time.

For now, I work as a Controller at a small public accounting firm. It's SUPER WHITE....

Honestly, I long to get back to being my own boss. I'm not opposed to hard work, I just miss the flexibility and control over my schedule and time.

I am still trying to tackle and study for the CPA exam, while working full-time. I am still working in tax, but I am getting bored with it. I have about 5 1/2 years of senior tax experience. I am not sure if I should switch over to auditing or a senior accountant position. I would love to get some auditing experience, but most likely I would have to start over as an associate, which means a pay decrease. Any suggestions?

Floetry are you at a large firm, I know EY and Deloitte are hiring, would you be against making a move to the Consulting side of things....it would be a way to keep your pay and maybe do something new/fun with your tax background....
