Is jamaican Mango and lime a good product for locs?
ive heard many times on youtube that the Jamaican mango and lime products are not healthy for locs. I have many of these products and i want to know if they are indeed harmful and if i should change.

i think anything acid should be used sparingly. from from i understand.. fruit isn't that good hair. though people use apple cidre vinager i have friends who use it. it's about achieving the ph balance for your hair.

Re: Is jamaican Mango and lime a good product for locs?
I used to love their Island Oil. Unfortunately, they've changed their formulations to cheaper, non-natural ingredients and I stopped using it.
I follow some locticians on Instagram, and they hate JM&L products because it leaves heavy buildup over time that is hard to get out. One lady actually had to use Dawn Dishwashing soap to get it out of one guy's locs. Oyin Handmade and Jane Cater have nice products that you can either order online or get at Target. Qhemet Biologics has good products too that can be ordered online.DNA's double helix design - ingenious.
A spring coil's power & momentum - amazing.

Re: Is jamaican Mango and lime a good product for locs?
Hello, I'm looking through other similar threads and the consensus is do what's best for you. I've had my locs for about 2 months I don't use it all the time so I'm not too concerned with buildup...I agree with oneandonly about the ACV rinse if you are having concerns with buildup... my brother was loc'd for 6 years and he used the product and never had a problem (that's y I bought it)... also keep in mind we don't need that much product to retwist (truthfully we don't need any product)

Their products use soybean, and in some people it causes major hair fall.
