I'm starting to look like a respectable older lady about the head. I'm gonna have to fix that ASAP.

Today the elderly white saleslady at the CVS has fuchsia streaks in her gray hair. Usually she's wearing purple or blue. I'm thinking about pulling out the cream eyeshadow and putting in some streaks of silver or blue (or both),

I have been MISSING my Nappturality - and my hair shows it!

Procrastination and laziness have set in, and the result is that I've been rocking variations of a big messy bun the entire semester thus far (with the exception of a couple out days on weekends), and I know my students are like "does she EVER do anything with her hair?"

So... my hair is gone. Literally. Almost. I have been thinking about going back to a TWA for months now, last week I ran into a picture of me on a knitting website with my loose short fro and I wanted it so bad. I took part in a Remembrance Day parade this morning and hated the way my short locs looked under my beret. When I got home, I almost headed right back out to a barber but I did an hour later after I cut off all my locs!!! I had about an inch to an inch and a half of growth and liked the nappy cotton cloud but I had a patch at the back where there hair hardly grew. I had to even out the back and then I made the barber shorten the top. So right now I look like Issae Rae in her early days as ABG.

I'll dust off my Photobucket to post pics. Meanwhile I was at the Korean store tonight looking at products and was exhausted. Miraculously, the last shealoe mix I made eight years ago did not go bad

As requested Mommie. I lucked out at the Korean's: I got a bottle of Cantu conditioner for kids to use as a cowash and it worked great on my hair. I put a little bit of my shealoe mix on top and now the TWA is banging

Rediscovering my hair. For years I've been content to wear my hair in a puff because it was the most simple and quickest way to style my hair. In the process, I totally destroyed my length literally popping of nearly half of my bra strap length hair. After years of babying it, I am surprisingly ok with that.

However, I've been unemployed for the past two months and during this time, I've been becoming reacquainted with it, somewhat. I still really don't want to be bothered with it but is still rather "long" stretching a couple of inches past my shoulders. Right now, I have it in large random plait. To keep them out of my way, I've pin curled each plait. It is too adorable and easy to maintain. And when I take them down, they make for an equally adorable braid out. Just thought I'd share.
