Newbies to site & locing
I've been lurking! I was referred to this site by a former loc wearer and there's plenty of info. I'd like to connect with those who have recently embarked on a growing locs journey. Most of the fotki albums have been deleted so I can watch/see a journey but I can in real time as I take my own. So let me know are here in 2015.

Re: Newbies to site & locing
Although technically a newbie, I've been on Nappturality off and on since 2010. I've been natural since 2004, and started my first set of locs on 11/11.

Re: Newbies to site & locing
Planning to loc again. I have about 2-3 inches of natural hair now. But when I hit that 6in mark I will start to loc my hair.

Re: Newbies to site & locing
Hey
I'm in the process of installing my braidlocs. I have thin hair so I'm making my braidlocs very small in order to avoid the scalpy look. I'm hoping that the small size won't lead to breakage ..

Re: Newbies to site & locing
Congrats on your journey! Most people have migrated to their FB feed, oh well. We are all dispersed again, like pre Nappturality, oh well..... hopefully you will find some like minded locers to share with!

Re: Newbies to site & locing
How ironic? I also went natural in 2004 and started my locs Dec 1, 2011. I recently did my 2nd big chop this year, so I'm starting over and loving it!

Re: Newbies to site & locing
I made my account less than 2 hours ago. I just found out about Nappturality this month. I can't believe I never found out about it until now! And I've been natural for like 4 years. I guess it was because I youtubed throughout my natural journey and none of the youtubers I watched mentioned it haha.
I was wondering something about locs. I have soooo many questions about them and quite in love with them, to be honest, but I haven't loc'd my hair yet. I need to sit on this until I am 200% sure I want to go through with it.Last edited by locdnaijafemme96; 03-16-2016 at 04:29 PM. Reason: found a loc forum that should be able to answer my questions. but if none of them do, i'll either post there or on this thread.

Re: Newbies to site & locing
I just started my loc journey as well... on February 25th, so not even a month yet. It is exciting and I am in love with my hair. I do have problems with my scalp which has been the biggest challenge. I can not afford to go longer than a week without thoroughly washing my hair, which makes unraveling a headache. But other than that, I really do love my hair!
