Why Is Heat Damage Bad?
I washed my hair and my hair won't curl back to its natural coils and kinkiness (I have 4c type of hair). But the thing is, I like the way my curls look now. They are elongated and loose. They look like 4a type of hair. My question is why is it bad to have heat damage and is it possible for my curls to stay this way and still be healthy and grow?

Re: Why Is Heat Damage Bad?
I sense a troll but just in case you are serious.
People lose their coils or whatever texture they originally had and wanted to keep. Some folks have been able to use heat without issue, others haven't. Your hair, your choice to roll the dice.
But going from undefined coils/frizz to magically having 4a? I need receipts to believe your story.

Re: Why Is Heat Damage Bad?
It's bad because the damage is more then esthetic, it breaks down your follicles, you'll get split ends, your hair will feel rougher etc. You may have to cut some it out when they become too limp to do anything with. The damage is permanent
If you are sincere, I think your desire for looser coils may be blinding you as to what your hair looks like. And it may get worst as you use more heat. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-heat, but you are rolling the dice when you use it. Not to mention that you can achieve much nicer coils with heatless methods.

Heat damaged hair cannot be structurally repaired. Once your hair is burned it's burned that way. That's why we call it "burnlaxing"
If you haven't completely burned it then it may spring back some but it will be weaker than before. Eventually burned hair will break off. It's a good idea to use protein treatments to try and artificially strengthen the damaged hair to lengthen the time before it breaks off.
