Default What's the longest you've ever kept your hair in twists?

Me - 2.5 months. I swore I'd never do that again, because with washing during that time, several twists were beginning to lock. It took me forever to get out all of the matting and shed hair.

So the fact that my hair is currently in twists that are 6 weeks and 3 days old is a serious concern. I'll be tackling the take down this weekend, but I'm praying that the abundant use of conditioners and other moisturizing products minimizes the tangles and matting. We'll see........

    Probably around 2 months.
    Never again.
That was years ago when I didn't know nothing about taking care of my hair, I was starting to lock, it was crazy how i ripped the twists apart to remove the now forming locks, and they were mini twists! *shutters*
    What was I thinking?! >_<

Now the longest I keep them in is 2 weeks, but I end up taking them down sooner if I wanna wear my hair out.

4 Months. Smh.... and I was tempted to twist the roots into dreads since they were locking. Never again. Lost so much hair..... enough to make a toupee.

When my hair is loose, 2 weeks is my average twist-in time. After that, they start to merge.

My longest is 2 weeks. But I am in a set of mini twists now and it is 2 1/2 weeks. I want to try to maintain them for 4 weeks. I did them with braided roots, so I'm hoping this will help so I don't have matting at the roots.

The braided root two strand twist lasted for one full month. I am so happy about that. But the take down was a beast! Probably around 8 hours. Normally, with a set of mini twist I can take down in 20 min or less. I have been known to take a set down while driving to work. Lol

I installed another set of twists with reg roots and I want to try clay washing them and see what happens

I did another set of twists and did not braid the root. Still lasted a month like the braided root one. I also tried washing them with bentonite clay. Absolutely loved it. My hair was so soft. And the takedown was pretty good too. I have found a new staple.

I've left them in for 2 weeks. I washed them after a week I think, but my hair tangled up so much that so called protective style was no such thing, lol.
