8 Months Transitioning
Hey I'm new to this natural forum thing so just help me along the way. I have been transitioning for 8 months now and my hair is super dry!!! Plus my hair is getting thicker but I see no length!!!!!!!! Should i purchase Biotin pills, or some type of hair growth stuff because I don't know what to do at this point. I have 4 months left until I'm all natural so if you have any suggestions on what I should do , then don't hesitate to answer my forum. Thanks

Re: 8 Months Transitioning
Hi Dear! you mentioned that your hair is dry: do you moisturize often ? yep, thickness will surely come but the thing you must understand is that you need patience and learn to love your hair and let it grow in its own rate.
A mistake you might be doing is comparing your hair growth rate with others. that will eventually make you sad because your hair is not the same with someone's else.
I suggest to learn what your hair loves and work on the dryness and once you solve that we can move to the next step.
Let me know if i can help dear, Happy hair growth ! wohoo!

Re: 8 Months Transitioning
Hi, I transitioned for 8 months and got tired of dealing with 2 hair types and was excited to see my true hair. So I did the bc 2 weeks ago. I noticed more dryness with natural hair and I'm still experimenting on ideas. My hair is now in crochet braids but I'm still moisturizing with oils. I've already seen growth in the braids. I plan on using the loc and just sticking to water oils and butters. Maybe you could try the loc method.
It must be growing but being patient to see it is hard. My hair was bra strap length before and I felt strange with my twa..lol. So I vowed myself to be patient and wait a year before I get worried.Last edited by Michelle45; 05-25-2016 at 04:12 PM.

Re: 8 Months Transitioning
Hi Ladies!
I am on my 5th go round with growing my hair out and currently i'm transitioning from a pixie cut. Generally i notice that deep conditioning, oil moisturizing and butter sealing work best for me to keep the moisture. Low manipulation hair styles and no heat seem to do it for me. I moisturize my ends nightly and spritz to dampen before I twist and rod set and night. Here's a good idea of my length, hair today:
I also use peppermint oil around my hairline. Hope this helps!
