Wash n go hair :how to make it last several days
Hi! I currently do a wash n go for my hair. The 1st day its perfect but when I wrap my hair in the satun scarf at night, the next day its frizzier and dry. Do you have to rewet and slather on product each day? It seems like a waste and plus I was hoping to not have to apply more product. Any tips?
My hair is curly with alot of frizz.

I have to wet my hair daily when I wash and go. I may not add a lot of product each day, but I do rinse and add an oil if I'm trying to refresh.

Re: Wash n go hair :how to make it last several days
Yea im trying to get to the point where i only have to wet it but i notice that sometimes i have to still add cream or gel to some places. Today im experimenting with adding shea moisture curl milk to some water in a spray bottle as nd spritzing and scrinching. My hair is damp now. We'll see how it lasts throughout the day.
Btw, what do you do in the winter? Do you diffuse?

Re: Wash n go hair :how to make it last several days
Hi,
Since I stopped using products on my hair daily (no poo, no conditioner, no lotions) and just wetting my hair under the shower, I noticed that I can wear my hair out everyday with no problems. Been doing this for almost 18 months now.
Once in a while I use ghassoul clay or apple cider vinegar and that is it.
My curls are gorgeous, my hair is soft and shrinkage is less.
To compare: I have used shampoo and conditioner last week...it was terrible. And this was from a brand that I liked to use. My hair was dry, it shrinked like crazy...and I used to think that it was soft like this!
So the only "grease" I use is my own sebum. I know that some think it is gross, it really is not. And cheap too! My hair does not break as much as it dis before, I do not have to use my shea butter concoction on my hair anymore (only for my body). I really like it like this. My hair is out every day!
But do not make the mistake to stop taking care of your body/hair (drinking water, eat right, sleep with hair in twists/on satin cover), you will feel the wrath of your hair!!

Re: Wash n go hair :how to make it last several days
On days when I choose not to fully wet my hair and add product, I do the following:
During my morning shower, I allow the steam and spray from the shower moisten my hair. Water is a wonderful moisturizer. ;-)
I then spray a homemade spritz made of 4 oz aloe Vera gel, 4 oz water, and 20 drops lavender essential oil.
I then may use a minimal a minimal amount of light conditioner where needed.
This moistens my hair enough to manipulate and style without causing damage.

Re: Wash n go hair :how to make it last several days
I've long since accepted that for WNGs my hair needs to see some kind of water every day. My shower doesn't get steamy enough for me so I'll usually spritz with water. The "challenge" (I put that in quotes because I've also long since accepted frizz as being a natural characteristic of my natural hair) is to scrunch that water in without disturbing the coils too much. Typically I do what I can do and then just leave it. I've never been one to apply extra product in between washes BUT I'm starting to see the value of using a TINY bit of watered-down leave-in.
Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!

Some type of Botanical Gel may help, such as Aloe Vera gel. You can even make your own flaxseed gel.
