OLYMPICS - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016
Anyone watching?
I got through about 4 hours of the Opening Ceremony before falling asleep. I recorded most of it before my DVR gave up
So I'm still trying to catch the ending celebration again. I've watched most of it twice already but I want to see the ending samba celebration again. I'm a mug for this stuff.
Are you watching?
Did you enjoy the opening ceremony?
Are you boycotting for political reasons?
Who will you be cheering for?Last edited by kinkykhick; 08-06-2016 at 10:34 AM.

Re: OLYMPICS - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016
USA! USA! USA!
Honestly? It's the US female gymnasts that I'm most excited for. However, swimming is really exciting to watch. I'm a big Olympics fan as I've watched them religiously as a kid. It was harder when I lived abroad and impossible when I moved back: I was hustling so hard and making ends met. I really didn't have the time to dedicate evenings to just watching TV.
Now I can. This is the first Olympics in a few years where I had a chance to watch the opening ceremonies. I thought it was just okay. The Parade of Nations was the best. I laughed because Switzerland just did not give a f$%k. "Hey! Let's just wear our warmup outfits, okay?!!!" My boyfriend is Swiss, so I got to make fun of him.
The oiled up Tongan flag bearer gets an honorable mention:
However, the best picture so far is this one - Lee Eun-Ju of South Korea takes a selfie picture with Hong Un Jong of North Korea (the diplomacy stuff gets me everytime):

US coverage driving me crazy as usual so as usual I'm resorting to online links but I am enjoying the Games quite a bit. Particularly since black women decided to win all of the medals. #AllOfTheMedals

HBO would be groovy or I just wish they'd go back to ABC and then they'd have the resources of ESPN, who as long as I don't have to hear them cover bball they're fine lol
But yeah anyone but NBC at this point. NBC is just ridiculous.

OH and I do not believe NBC aired the Mongolian Wrestling Protest which that alone is a massive FAIL lolol. One of the most epic moments in Olympic history. Lololol
