    Default Interlock straight or reverted?

Hello, l have decided to install the mini locks using the interlock method from ends to root, like sisterlocks. My question is should I do it on stretched hair or shrunken hair. I was thinking to lightly flat iron the hair frist so that my locs will be long. My natural hair has a lot of shrinkage. So will straightening my hair allow for the locs to be longer, or would it not matter? My stretched hair is about arm pit length.

You should not straighten your hair. When you lock your hair you want it to be in its natural state. You know that when you wash your hair it will shrink even in locks. There is not need to straighten it at all. Your locks will start out fairly long, then shrink some and thicken up.

You can band them to keep them from bunching, however there is bound to be some shrinkage because that is a part of the locking process. Here are a few pictures of mine when I started so you can see what I am talking about.

Shrinkage will happen, but it will still be beautiful.
