Does anyone else have SUPER SMART kids who are sloppy AF???

Both kids (10 YO Girl and 13 YO Boy) were a single B away from straight A's. Both kids are generally awesome kids. I mean, I actually like them. The littlest one just blew her test scores out of the water, and has been placed in GT (Gifted & Talented) Classes because of it.
*I* never even tested for GT classes and I grew up on the top of my class. (I was also lazy AF tho... )

So its like, they are exceeding my expectations on one hand. But on the other...

They are sloppy AF. For some reason, they cannot close cabinets and doors. Like... I legit got up for school/work yesterday and found my freezer door WIDE OPEN at 5 am.

Their rooms are friggin sties. Its a constant fight over chores. And my son is on his way to being a funky genius.

Grades, behavior, manners: Super A+
Hygiene, Cleanliness, Chores: D-

Its like an emotional roller coaster for me. The littlest one gets bumped up to GT and I'm over the moon. Then I find a greasy bowl in her damn sock drawer and I feel guilty for wanting to MURDER her.

Is anyone else experiencing this?!

Can someone give me some advice? Help? Prayers? Number to a good therapist???

Do you have a reward system in your home? Ex. If they do their chores to x specifications, they can get their allowance, time on video games, etc.
