To those of you not worried about losing net neutrality (and those who are), understand they’ve been planning changes to your internet plans for over a year since the republicans swept the 2016 election.

Whenever big money is involved and people stand to make profits, changes can happen quickly. And there is a lot of money to be made for some very wealthy people now. Unless Congress blocks it, expect to see some changes pretty quickly next year if they don’t.

The opportunity may be for smaller websites to gain more traffic as people will not be able to afford “Social media packages” and there will be a hemorrhagic exodus from them.

Here in Australia we don’t have net neutrality and you pay more for higher speeds depending on where you live. But there are no “site packages”. Everything is open to everyone.

So, I’m going to wait and see what happens.
