Twistout vs. Workout - Epic Battle
So its January and with a couple of trips and weddings on the horizon, I need to ramp up my workout. After a day long wash/condition/detangle/braid routine, I woke up with a great twistout. I love my hair but in the past, it always morphs into something huge when I get into a good workout. If I tie it down, I don't want to flatten it. I'd hate to go back to workout hair ( Ponytail/buns ) when I really want to get back to styling my hair more often. What have you ladies been doing or using to keep your styles sweatproof?

Re: Twistout vs. Workout - Epic Battle
I'm in the same boat, my hair morphs from the scalp when I work out.
I dampen and retwist my hair with gel before working out. That's been the only way I can retain any style. If I work out with a twistout, it's over because my cottony hair just does not hold up. I don't twist every single twist, but combine them. And I don't twist too tight, and tuck the ends under. It's more like a "preservation" style. When I take down the twists, my hair is bigger than before but still defined.
If anyone else has any ideas, I'd love to know!"The truth is, your natural hair, in all its texture, is the hair that is ideal for YOU.."

Re: Twistout vs. Workout - Epic Battle
I agree with Dee. I would throw some big twists or braid in my hair to work out. The moisture of working out with a twist out is asking for huge hair (not that I don't love huge hair). I tend to wear a threaded style so work working out does not effect it at all. My hair looks like twist but stays lest frizzy.
