How Often Do You Trim?
I'm pretty bad at this- maybe twice a year. I know its a faux pas but I don't always see the need for it.

Re: How Often Do You Trim?
I've started keeping scissors by when I do my hair, and I just snip SSK when I catch them. If I ever find a decent natural hair salon near me I might go there for layers or something. Otherwise I don't worry about trims.

Re: How Often Do You Trim?
I'm on that Nazirite tip right now, lol...no razor or other sharp object has touched these strands since October.
Until recently I was wearing WNGs pretty much exclusively so I know for a fact I have a head full of SSKs. I just pinch them off with my fingers when I feel them.Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!

Re: How Often Do You Trim?
Its been since Oct for me too! I don't like to trim too often because I don't feel like I see the growth I want to see. And everyone gets so scissor happy.
Nazarites for the win! lol

Re: How Often Do You Trim?
huh. it was back in October for me too.
Yeah, I asked my stylist when I should come back for my next trim and she said that eight week recommendation that you hear everywhere just doesn't work for us. I'm loving the effects of not having splits/ssks but I probably won't go back until I see some growth.----------It is not the eyes that are blind, but the hearts - Quran 22:46 ----------

Re: How Often Do You Trim?
I caved in at got a trim yesterday! I needed to do something with my hair and figured if I was gonna pay salon prices might as well let her trim it. The stylist told me that it should be around 4 months per trim. Really when the ends become not so easy to comb.

Re: How Often Do You Trim?
I believe it is solely subjective to the amount of time one wears their hair in a fro-like state and manipulation. There is not major rule and if you are constantly cutting length and getting a trim ( average maximum hair growth a year 6 inches).
I do agree scissor happy individuals are everywhere. There are also individuals who do not know how to cut natural hair.
"Stop...think about...let it simmer.... The more you try to define, the more you realize that some things in this life of ours are indefinable....I am one of those people that one word can not describe me in my entirety. But if I would describe myself...it would be indefinable!"
