black salons in NYC don't know how to properly cut split ends

i go to black salons in ny to style my hair. growing up i've been told millions of time to trim my hair, and i always did, but my ends always looked raggedy and my hair never grew past shoulder length for years.

i've seen many black hairstylists and none of them seem to know how to trim my ends properly. but they have all the advise in the world. the only time my ends looked normal was when a non BW did them. this is how i discovered this. does anyone know of any black stylists in ny who know what they're doing. and have long healthy hair themselves.
