Default What did it for you?

    Hey!

So i've been trying to lose weight since I can remember. For those of you who have lost any amount of weight, what did it for you personally?

Hi! For me, it was smaller portions of food & carbs, especially. I was eating large portions of pasta and rice, so I cut down on this a lot. I kept to 3 meals a day and no snacks, if I remember correctly. I often grazed.

Also, no orange juice. I could make that stuff disappear LOL. It was something I cut out for a long time. I lost about 45-50lb about 10 years ago.

I recently lost a few more from starting a low carb and high fat way of eating. I started to help with autoimmune issues and chronic fatigue. I have better energy, now. Have you heard of the ketogenic diet?

Less eating and more moving. Full stop.

I've never really done any sort of formal dieting except for way back when in high school. I was reading some trendy book. I don't even remember the name, but, as a result, I was eating less and lost weight. During other times, it really was regular physical activity.

Now I'm 50, so I'm going much slower. I'm also recovering from surgery, so we'll see how my body holds up because to recover I have to lay down for most of the day. It's awful when you've been regularly active for awhile. However, I'm doing my best to comply.

Anyway: diet and exercise. When it comes to exercise interval training and you MUST do resitance training too.

Good luck. I'll be back with you in a couple of weeks, God willing.

    I changed my thinking-
    Read-Eat Right for your BloodType
    God Made/Man Made
    The Elimination Diet

Slowly began transforming pasta into spaghetti squash, eating oatmeal, raisins, pecans for b-fast instead of bagels. I laid off the kool-aid....stuff like that. More fiber gave me a foundation to transform because I craved less junk. Eventually it became a lifestyle to select healthy choices that benefit my figure and lifestyle. hth.

Crap. And I get Zabar's bagels sent to me on autoship.

Actually, with most of the other stuff, I'm good. I do let myself have a vice or two. One of those vices is a toasted NYC-bagel with cream cheese.
