Years ago I purchased a hair soap bar from crab apple soap factory. It was mentioned on this site. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a soap bar that will not strip the hair?

Have you tried pure/real African black soap? It comes in both bar and liquid form. You can buy it online and in most health food stores (including mass franchises like Whole Foods and Sprouts).

Try it plain to see how you like it, then you can add your own oils to customize it and make it even more moisturizing (e.g., oilive oil), more multi-purpose (e.g., add rosemary essential oil to stop shedding/promote growth if you're not pregnant or breastfeeding), or more fragrant (e.g., geranium essential oil). I add oils to the bar by grating it, adding just enough filtered water to barely cover, and letting it sit for hours to dissolve (you can stir periodically to speed up the process or stir on very low heat to dissolve within minutes). Melting the bar allows me to strain out any small rocks or gritty particles from the ash.

Each batch that I make is about 16oz. I add essential oils that help preserve it but also keep it refrigerated between uses.

has anyone tried Shea Moisture bars of soap... I saw them at Wal-mart and I still haven't tried it... why did do they look like Nubian Heritage... I think my mind almost fell apart... jk...
