Hello Loc’ers! I’m almost 16-months into my second set of locs. I started from 2-strand twists this time. It’s been a while since I’ve be active on NP, but striving to be back and more consistent. 2 pictures. One dry hair and other post shampoo soaking wet.

Miss you and others too! I'm approaching 7 with my 2nd set of locks and basically took that journey offline myself. Hope you the best in 2020.

I really miss this forum! This is where I'm at now. I had Sisterlocks for 4 years, cut them short, combed them out, then had interlocs installed. I still think about starting over again one day with comb coils and going the traditional route vs using a loc tool to maintain them.

    I'm officially 7yrs locked!
    AGAIN.

Pics soon....I cant believe how slack I am with pics now

I did an undercut in 2017. This winter I let it grow back. now I have an inch of baby locks-looking crazy, oh well. I'm not trimming my locks to shoulder length anymore. I did that for the first 5 yrs....they are past my brastrap. This big difference is they are lighter. Installing SLs really did make a difference. I love my mature SLs better than my mater BLs(they were thick, bulky and trapped alot of crap). I've been able to stay ontop of cleaning these better and can nip build up in the bud. For those that remember, I hated my SLs the first year or 2. My scalp hurt, they got so thick and bulky and stiff...then, they slimmed down magically.

My rec. If you get SLs get standard size. The small will break on you as they mature. I had a few, not many. My BLs didn't do that. Also, I maintained these myself all 7 yrs. Onward!

I had interlocks eons ago, sadly I had to cut them in like 2017. Here I am with a 3 day old set of two strand twist starter locs. How long until they friz up and look less skinny and more fun?

Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used against you.
