    Default Hi Everyone!

    Hi Everyone,

    My Hair Journey:

This was the first site I came across when I first went natural back in 2003. Back then I was lost and my journey was awful. I cut my hair in the Ceasar style after a year and a half and kept it like that for 2 years. After a while I wanted some hair and decided to grow my hair out. Being a loose natural was still a struggle, I could not retain moisture so I decided to loc. I started with interlocks for 4 years but by the 4th year they were looking bad. I decided to palm roll and they were great! I was washing and conditioning and palm rolling every two weeks and dying the grey every other palm roll. Well that took its toll on me and I cut them out Sept 2017. I am back to being a loose natural, fully grey, and I am glad to say my hair is thriving. Retaining moisture is no longer an problem; I solved that issue by steaming in the conditioning treatments.

I am now looking forward to growth and hair styles.

Hello RicRenee! It's good to have you on the board. You are welcome to jump right into any of the conversations.

Say, what do you steam your hair with?

Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry.
    It merely astonishes me.

    2003? Wow welcome back!

Gray and steam are a match made in HEAVEN. Glad you have found that out. Did you cut your hair all the way off or did you keep some length? Did it grow back in grey or was it gradual? So many questions!

Hello! I use two plastic bags and the hot head thermal cap. I spray the inside of one plastic bag with aloe vera juice. I have hard water and don't want to use it.

I cut it down to half an inch. I continued to color maybe one more application after the cut but decided I no longer wanted that maintenance. I cut out most of the color a year later and am gradually trimming off the rest of the color. I just have a tad bit of color on the very ends.

I really need to see a picture of your hair @RicRenee because I need some inspiration! I am thinking of cutting again...
