skin toner.

I have oily skin and I have tried all types of commercial toners, they just irritate my pores. So I've made this from a very common pool of natural astringents

I fill up a bottle with spring water. Add a few drops of peppermint oil and lemon. I use bottled lemon juice because it has preservatives. This works and it tingles deliciously.

I just made this Creamy Hair Cream and it is so creamy and melts right into your hair. It made my super dry hair melt like a candle...very soft. Makes @ 4 to 5 ounces:

(Sorry but I don’t have exact measurements)
@1/2 cup of shea butter
1/2 cup of mango butter
Add 2 to 3 tablespoon of Coconut Oil
(Melt or mash butters and oil together)
Add 1 tablespoon of Vitamin E Oil as preservative
Add 3 tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel
Add 2 to 3 tablespoon of Emu Oil
Add 2 to 3 tablespoon of Olive Oil
Add 1/4 cup or more of Castor Oil
Add 10 drops of Lavender EO
Mix all ingredients together until it gets really creamy and fluffy.
~~Enjoy

Hair Spritz - Scalp Stimulator
I thought that I would do an experiment seeing as I need all the moisture I can get this winter. I'm going to use the oils that are reported to promote scalp stimulation.

Fits into a 1/2oz spray bottle.

Ingredients:

- Lemon EO 11 drops -> Astringent properties and refreshing
- Grapefruit EO 11 drops -> Refreshing and good for greasy hair
- Rosemary EO 15 drops -> Promotes growth & scalp stimulation
- Ylang EO 10 drops -> Promotes growth & scalp stimulation
- Bergamot EO 5 drops -> Good for scalp stimulation, greasy hair & good for damaged hair
- FCO half a teaspoon -> penetrates the hair shaft & softens hair
- Arnica oil half a teaspoon -> Arnica promotes scalp stimulation, growth & conditions hair.
- Fill the rest of the bottle with Spring Water
<span style=\'color:red\'>Leave out the Rosemary if you have high blood pressure or are pregnant. Lemon & Grapefruit are sensitisers so watch yourself in the sun

Peace, Love & :afro: ness!

Have a peaceful Christmas & God Bless

Does anyone have a recipe for a solid lotion bar or massage bar? I need something that I doesnt melt quickly in the hands and has shea and/or cocoa butter. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,

I need a recipe that really gives GREAT shine. I tried an olive oil and water mixture, but I don't like the oily feeling, maybe I used to much. What I need is something I can spray on in the morning that gives good shine. The hair butters and such that I used to use, usually gave ample shine, but I am trying to decrease my product usage. So really, I just want a spray that achieves this. I see many glycerin recipes on this board, I've heard its great for shine, but I've never used it. Would anyone mind sharing any homemade recipes with me that gave great shine? Or point out any on this board that gave shine.

Thanks!!!

Just before New Years eve I made a small oil spritz that worked well and gave my hair loads of shine.

This oil spritz won't leave your hair greasy as the oils used dry quickly.

You must use this after you have wet your hair or made it damp - when it dries it will shine (well it made my hair shine on New Years Eve)

What you will need:
1 oz small spray bottle

1 part Oil
1 Vitamin E capsule
10 to 15 drops of Fragrance oil or Essential oil of choice - I used Ylang ylang EO and Vanilla FO

Pour into the bottle and spray on wet or lightly damp hair.
A little oil spritz'll do ya!

Hope you like it.

Peace, Love & :afro: ness!

I made my own Shea Butter mix.
I usually just add in the ingredients until I get it to the consitistency I want it. I use Shea butter (about 2 tbsp.), honey(2 tbsp), and sweet almond oil (about 1/4 cup). I mix them together and put it in the fridge and it thickens up nicely, but not hard. Its great for me because it moisturizes my hair all day and gives it a nice sheen. A little bit goes a long way. I made this mixture because I couldn't find the ingredients for one of the recipes I found on here and ended up having to use what I had on hand.

Hair Emergency (Whipped this together last night when my hair was strawlike...I still haven't figured out why)

~Clarify (I used acv)

~Wash if desired.

~mash one overripe banana in a large bowl. heat olive oil and honey together (5:1) and whisk into the banana.

~put this mixture onto hair, comb through, plastic cap it, put a warm towel over head,

~wash and comb out mixture ( I conditioner washed in order to get the banana out easier)

~apply shea butter (or some other leave -in) to hair...let air dry.

MY HAIR feels sooooo much BETTER.
