:nohuh I know I'm on here quite often requesting suggestions and advice about locs...but I have no clue what I'm doing and don't want my hair to fall out trying to learn... :doh I started with two-strand twists which I allowed to do their own thing...I now have the free form look goin' on, but can't seem to get the look I'm going for when I attempt to palm roll after a wash and condition, I use the honey spritz to hold my twist, olive oil for moisturizer. what are other methods of holding my twist in place... :huh ok..at the risk of sounding like the newbie I am, how do i "latch my locs"....please help my hair :-?

Well, when I first retwisted myself (palmrolling) I didn't get the look that I wanted either. I mean it looked nothing like how my then loctician did it, but I kept trying then I guess finally I got what I was looking for. I haven't tried the latching method yet, but I've thought about it. I usually clip mine when I palmroll. I also use the honey spritz to hold and olive oil as a moisturizer.

    Thank you kinkycoils,
I have been clipping after I retwist, but the way I position my clips only the roots stay, the rest of my hair has a frizzy look to it, but i will stick with it :thumbsup

Try clipping so that the ends are also clipped down.

Sometimes, one clip can be holding down more than one twist (for example, the root of one twist plus the end of the twist above it.)

I have to position 2 mirrors so I can see the back of my head when I do this.

    Hope this helps.
