I'm excited to finally find a place where people are celebrating their hair. I've been natural for about three and a half years now. I made the decision to go natural my sophomore year of high school and my family has NEVER supported the decision! Bless you all for giving me the confidence to never go back to a perm!

    But, I have a problem!
I've been wearing my hair in the same way for about 3 years, pulled back into a puff. Sometimes, I get cornrows in the front and let the back puff out. But, that's as far as I've gone.

Since I'm in school, I don't have the time (or the money!) to go to a professional and get my hair done. I have friends who braid, but I'm a little wary.

Does anyone have any suggestions on simple styles that I can do myself?

    Hello!
Two strand twists are normally the best. They provide a lot of versatility. You can wear them up or down. Fancy or casual. I hople that helps! :afro:

Twists and when ready to take them out, the resulting twistout.
A freeform fro or picked one is good too. You can use different scarves, heeadbands or barrettes too.
