Ladies,
I need some advice. It seems as if my hair has stopped
growing. :dunno: I know that sounds crazy but I haven't noticed a
change in length. I haven't had any breakage issues so I figure it must
have slowed or stopped growing. I am getting so tired of doing
protective styles and using products that claim to aid in growth only to
not see a difference. Does any one have any advice or solutions to
offer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I went natural three years ago, my hair grew after I got off all the perm, but then stopped a few months later. Yes, it did. I got very frustrated since I like length.
But I just kept on conditioning twice per week so at least it was soft. For length, I used micros or box braids and that helped to hide the growth problem I seemed to be having.

maybe it's it in it's resting stage
also, how are you keeping up with your length? ruler? pictures? stretched hair? are you considering shrinkage?
how's your eating habits? exercise?
just out of curiousity, what are the products you've tried?

ditto @intellect....
I thought the same thing until I took out the ruler and noticed a couple of inches had slipped in....
most of us have mass shrinkage so please don't fret.
also, if you're not eating right or drinking your water or taking vitamins or any of that good stuff you may have a problem. but, it seems like you're doing everything right and you said you have no breakage.
and, when you're dead, then your hair stops growing so its growing but sometimes with the shrinkage it is really hard to see. I had to convince my mom that my hair was growing because it kind of looks the same length esp since I mostly wear curls or shrunken fros all the time.

How are you measuring?
Is your hair at least the longest length that you achieve when permed?

I haven't measured with a ruler. I am measuring my style progress. For example a couple of months ago I was almost able to make a ponytail. At the present time I am still at the same spot I was before. It gets frustrating because I am doing all I can do to protect my ends and to keep my hair moisturised. Thanks for the advice ladies.

Yes it is as long as it was before I cut it off. I'm not sure exactly of the length.

Yeah, after looking in all of the post chop hair albums, I assumed that my hair would grow really fast after I chopped. But, a month later I didn't think it had really grown, but it has. The way I know it has grown is because when I chopped, I also dyed my hair. So now I can see about a quarter-inch of dark roots, so I know it has grown.
Not saying that you should go dye your hair, but saying that your hair IS probably growing. It may just be a subtle growth, so you don't really notice it right now.
